Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Slitter/Rewinder Machine Operator to join our paper manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate slitter and rewinder machines to cut large rolls of paper into smaller ribbons according to specifications. This position requires both physical and technical skills, including the ability to handle heavy materials and precise measurement work.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 5:30 am - 2:00 pm.
Pay Rate:
$18 - $20 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
Position Type:
Temp-to-perm position.
Requirements:
- Must pass a 10-panel urinalysis test.
- No criminal convictions related to violent or sexual crimes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate slitter/rewinder machines to cut large rolls of paper into smaller ribbons according to production specifications.
- Load large rolls of paper onto the machine and monitor the cutting process to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Use measurement tools, such as dial calipers and tape measures, to ensure precise cuts and adherence to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure smooth operation and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues as needed.
- Follow safety procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist with material handling using tow motors, forklifts, or other equipment as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating slitter/rewinder machines in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency with measurement tools, including dial calipers and tape measures.
- Tow motor license or relevant experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Physical ability to lift heavy rolls of paper and perform repetitive tasks.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

This role involves working in a fast-paced production environment, handling heavy materials, and operating machinery. Safety and attention to detail are paramount.
