What are the responsibilities and job description for the (TEMP) Human Resource Generalist position at Surge?
Pay: $25-$30 an hour
Hours: Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, on site
Responsibilities Include
- Branch/Business Unit Communication Communicate all branch level personnel changes via employee memos. This includes but is not limited to: Promotions, restructuring, and the exit of employees. Position will also draft correspondences for assigned Business Unit.
- Employee Files Maintain employee personnel and medical files for the branch to include SharePoint entry.
- Recruiting Partner with Corporate Recruiting team to coordinate new hire paperwork and new hire orientation.
- Compensation Analytics With the HRIS as a resource, analyze and address pay discrepancies. This includes reviewing merit increases and bonus recommendations, new hires and internal equity concerns, and wage adjustments.
- Benefit Administration Act as the local liaison between employees and our Corporate Benefits Department serving as a resource to answer all benefit- related questions. Host Open Enrollment meetings and assist employees with benefits enrollment.
- Compliance Ensure compliance with company policies, EEO, FLSA, Federal and State Laws.
- HRIS Assist in training new and current employees on ADP Workforce Now.
- Worker’s Compensation Complete all facets of the workers comp claim process to include communication with insurance carrier and employee.
- LOA/Reasonable Accommodation Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable State and Federal requirements including but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, PLOA, Disability Insurance and Return to Work processes.
- Performance Management Assist management with the timely completion of annual performance evaluations. Generate and analyze reports to ensure submittal by established deadline.
- Employee Engagement Assist Manager and Coordinator in planning employee and customer banquets and meetings and teambuilding events including, but not limited to; holiday parties, sales banquets, vendor meetings, staff meetings and divisional “Employee of the Quarter” rallies.
- Employee Relations Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues and ensure that Corporate Human Resources is involved in all warranted issues. Attend local unemployment claim hearings, lead and conduct HR investigations (i.e. discrimination, harassment, wage and hour discrepancies, etc.). Ensure consistency of disciplinary documentation prior to delivery.
- Safety Help coordinate branch safety initiatives with HR Manager and Directors of Operation to identify injury trends and assist in future prevention.
- Training & Development Conduct various HR trainings and coaching sessions with management and staff on any of the above mentioned subject areas.
