Position Title: Human Resource Generalist

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Human Resource Generalist to join our team at the Surgery Center of Southern Oregon. The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in supporting day-to-day human resources operations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Coordinate the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and facilitating candidate interviews.
- Oversee onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and conflict resolution.
- Promote a positive work environment by addressing employee issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Assist with special projects and events, such as employee recognition programs and staff events.
Compliance and Policies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook as necessary.
Benefits and Payroll Administration
- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, contributions, inquiries and reports.
- Administer employee leave programs (e.g., FMLA, sick) and respond to unemployment claims.
- Coordinate payroll processing and resolve payroll-related issues.
Training and Development
- Support employee training initiatives, including mandatory compliance training and professional development opportunities.
- Track training completion and maintain records.
Performance Management
- Assists in the development, implementation and enforcement of company policies and procedures, including the employee handbook and Code of Conduct.
- Oversee the termination process for both voluntary and involuntary separations, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Facilitates professional development trainings and activities
HR Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Generate HR reports and analytics as needed.
- Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment within the ambulatory surgery center.
- Occasional lifting of files and materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
