What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance and Billing Specialist position at Surgery Center South?
The Insurance Clerk is responsible for the processing of all primary and secondary insurance claims, working refunds, and following up on all payment rejections.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work any insurance rejections/denials, patient collections, and aged accounts receivables
· Run insurance forms, fill in necessary information, attach EOBs and mail
· Transmit to facility and anesthesia charges to payors
· Maintain insurance files on all surgery patients
· See the information requested by insurance companies is processed promptly
· File mail concerning surgery patients
· File copy of claims that are mailed
· Work up refunds that need to be made
· Assist patient with inquiries about their surgery bill
· Work up Insurance Pending Report as needed
· Assist other insurance clerk with daily duties when necessary
· To perform any duties not outlined about as directed by supervisor, physicians, or administration in order to maintain quality patient care
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
