- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize medical coding knowledge, including ICD-10, to ensure proper documentation of procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding financial responsibility
- Address any scheduling conflicts or issues promptly to minimize disruptions in patient care.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking surgical schedules and patient information.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably as a Surgery Scheduler or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding practices, and insurance verification processes.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Experience with medical records management is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient interaction.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
- A background in Ambulatory Surgery Center/Medical Office required
