Duties & Responsibilities
• Leadership o Manages a hospital team of two or more Surgical Solutions Technicians, including:
▪ Interviews and evaluates candidates and match their skills and strengths with hospital requirements. Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, comparing candidate qualifications to job requirements, and making recommendations for hiring, promotions, and terminations.
▪ Supervises and manages employee performance, assess, and investigate personnel problems; administers performance counseling and coaching when deemed appropriate; escalate issues to appropriate resource and/or level in a timely manner; provides recommendations regarding disciplinary measures when necessary.
▪ Communicates clearly and concisely expectations, assignments, and/or instructions. Timely completion of 120-day and/or annual Technician Performance Evaluation forms.
▪ Provides hands-on training opportunities to continue to develop their team and strengthen technical operations while fostering a strong team environment based on Surgical Solutions values of consideration, dignity, respect, and integrity.
▪ Administers disciplinary or corrective action where necessary in a timely manner. Documents employee performance, both positive contributions and performance failures.
▪ Interviews and assesses talent for the team. Exercise good judgement and maintain confidentiality.
▪ Schedules employees for customary shifts and on-call hours. Utilizes company timekeeping software appropriately to ensure accurate Payroll records including timecards and time off entries. Monitors team's over-time hours and encourages proper time management.
▪ Holds regular team meetings to ensure open communication and feedback.
▪ Ensures the team always provides stellar customer service.
▪ Assigns a backup person, for when you are out and/ or on leave to manage the team while you are away and communicate who the backup person is to all necessary team members and hospital personnel.
Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma/GED required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Certifications: Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) certification required
• Previous Experience: 3-5 years of Operating Room experience. 3-5 years frontline supervisory experience required. Prior span of control 2-15 FTE direct reports. Prior Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience preferred
• Outstanding customer service skills, ability to build and maintain strong rapport with hospital teams
• Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Possess excellent leadership skills; ability to effectively build teams and direct the work of others
• Ability to anticipate needs quickly and accurately, and appropriately respond
• Experience with Microsoft Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel
• Availability for 24/7 hospital coverage including weekday, weekend, and holiday rotational scheduled and on-call shifts
