Job Summary
The Plant Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the building(s), equipment, and utilities are maintained in good working conditions and center grounds are properly maintained in accordance with residents’ needs, government regulations, and company policies. The Plant Operations Manager will also, support the company’s mission, vision, core values, and provide excellent customer service to associates, residents, visitors, and guests, while achieving the center’s business objectives.
Duties
- Monitor the overall physical plant operations.
- Identify and correct maintenance issues.
- Perform minor repairs and day to day repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance of the building, equipment, lawn, and grounds.
- Arrange for and manage outside repairs, maintenance, and construction services according to procedures.
- Develop a preventative maintenance plan to maintain the physical plant according to government regulations, company policy, and the direction of the Administrator.
- Coordinate maintenance services with all other services to assure a smooth integration of SCHC interdisciplinary approach to quality.
- Work with the Administrator and Consultants in planning all aspects of maintenance operations, including setting priorities and job assignments.
- Maintain a working knowledge of and ensure compliance with all governmental regulations.
- Comply with employment laws and company policies.
- Ensure practices that maintain high morale and staff retention, to include effective communication, prompt problem resolution, and positive supervisory practices; while maintaining a positive working environment.
- Manage maintenance budget to include outside vendor and contractor costs.
- Provide Administrator with requested assistance in developing maintenance budget, as needed.
- May also, perform floor care and supervise the Floor Quality Specialists, as needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Completion of high school education or otherwise show ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
- Previous maintenance experience preferred, but not required; as long as the level of experience is at a level necessary to perform the duties of this job.
- Basic office equipment knowledge i.e. faxing, scanning, emailing, and copying.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance, as required.
- Must be able to work weekend and overtime as required.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to follow and/or provide strong communication skills effectively through written and oral delivery in a manner appropriate for a healthcare/office setting.
- Must be able to problem solve, if needed.
- Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment exam, if required.
