We are seeking an experienced Supply & Material Planner who is passionate about joining a team in the manufacturing of high quality laminates and films used in a variety of applications including on cabinetry in kitchen and bath applications, countertops and paneling in recreational vehicles and in the enhancement of interior retail spaces.

The Supply & Material Planner will develop and execute a supply plan for a portfolio of items based on demand, orders, lead times and available inventory. This role is responsible for developing both short and long-term end to end supply chain plans for items produced internally and externally. Under limited supervision, the Supply & Material Planner will define the appropriate inventory levels and associated required capacity, resources and raw materials to optimize service, working capital and costs. This position is a key driver in ensuring finished goods and raw material availability by assuring product is available to fulfill customer demand while minimizing inventory, waste and supply chain costs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop master plans by utilizing current demand inputs and collaborating with manufacturing, demand planning, commercial partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure plans and inventory are managed according to constraints and meet internal targets aligned with the business strategy
• Develop and maintain rolling 12-to-18-month capacity, production, inventory and raw material plans in support of the monthly IBP supply planning process and highlight resource and capacity gaps that require further action. Collaborate with production scheduler to ensure the efficient delivery of inventory, service, and cost objectives while optimizing inventory and plant utilization.
• Manage, monitor and track inventory levels, service levels, surplus/obsolete inventory, vendor performance, and any other relevant KPIs to identify variance from goals. Use all available resources to analyze root causes and recommend possible actions to improve KPI results
• Analyze and initiate changes to supply chain/procurement sap data elements impacting the supply plan, such as safety stock settings, lead times, sourcing to ensure accuracy of information.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide regular updates on inventory projections. Lead weekly supply meetings to discuss supply shortages and recommend mitigation strategies. Escalate to leadership any issues that arise
• Coordinate with demand planning, deployment, transportation, warehousing, and customer service teams to address any changes to supply plan and solve any shortage scenarios that occur
• Represent OMNOVA as an authorized agent and primary contact in transactions involving the acquisition of materials, equipment, and services from external vendors for plant site operations.
• Work closely with central sourcing & logistics staff to understand current sourcing plans, approved vendors, contract terms and conditions, and specific local versus corporate commercial responsibilities
• Collaborate with central sourcing to assure competitive cost, quality, and appropriate service levels for procured goods & services
• Develop and execute Purchase Orders in compliance with legal, technical and corporate requirements and policies
• Primary point of contact on vendor relations necessary to supply the plant effectively and efficiently and resolve any issues
• Execute new item product launches and/or discontinuations to meet customer expectations
• Develop capacity assessment to support supply chain reviews/decisions as required
• Identifies ways to improve supply planning processes and tools for assigned areas

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Strong understanding of the supply chain process
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience using MRP (Materials Resource Plan) / ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Effective communication skills to interact with vendors, suppliers, customers and other supply chain team members
• Attention to detail and ability to focus on numbers for extended periods
• Sound judgment using available data
• APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred
• Advanced MS Excel (complete statistical analysis to uncover patterns and trend, create charts from table data in various formats, perform calculations and vertical lookups, and create pivot tables from data sets)
• Ability to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced, high pressure environment
• Knowledge of general accounting; production assembly procedures, techniques, and tooling; material and capacity planning and forecasting; and product bill of material procedures
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels.
• Effective communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in MS office applications
• Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
• 3 years' experience in Supply Chain field
• SAP knowledge

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds as needed
• Frequently positions self to use/maintain personal protective equipment
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Comfortable with working in a manufacturing environment alongside machines, equipment, etc.
• Ability to detect, distinguish, or determine the source of a smell
• Exposure or works around chemical processing, unregulated temperature, dusty conditions
