What are the responsibilities and job description for the Omakase Sushi Chef position at Sushi | Bar Hospitality?
Sushi Bar is looking for a reliable and dedicagted Sushi Chefs to join our team. Sushi Bar is an intimate Omakase experience where the Chefs serve and interact directly with 12 guests sitting around their Sushi counter. This non-traditional, progressive, sushi experience has been one of the most coveted reservations in each market where it operates.
Many of the Sushi specific culinary skills can be taught to candidates with a great foundation. This is a culinary position but not a "Back of House" position. All Chef's work to host guests every night at their Sushi counter. Ability and willingness to engage professionally and positively with guests each night is at the top of the position’s requirements.
Guidelines for the position:
- 2 years of experience in a sushi or fine dining concept
- Sushi/Japanese cuisine experience preferred
- Attention to Detail
- Sense of Urgency
- Engaging Personality
- Must have exceptional knife skills
- Must have the ability or willingness to learn breaking down and portioning whole fish
- Knowledge of fermentation a plus
- Ability to multi-task, describing product/techniques while preparing items
- Ability to work long shifts up to 10-12 hours
- Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 45 per week
