We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sushi preparation and a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Plan and design the sushi menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices.
- Participate in catering events as required, showcasing sushi offerings for special occasions.
- Uphold the highest standards of quality in food presentation, flavor, and overall dining experience.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the food industry.
- Familiarity with menu planning, kitchen operations, and food handling procedures.
- Experience working in catering services is a plus.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in traditional sushi-making techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
