Responsibilities
- Prepare and present sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with precision and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food preparation.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new sushi items and seasonal offerings that align with customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and properly stored.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness.
- Adhere to food safety standards, including proper food handling techniques and storage practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests about menu items and accommodating dietary preferences.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
- Experience with menu planning and food preparation in a restaurant setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dietary aide practices and food handling regulations is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining quality standards in food service.
