Duties
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with precision and creativity.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine the sushi menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to food safety standards at all times.
- Utilize knife skills to prepare fresh fish and vegetables for sushi dishes efficiently.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Provide exceptional service by ensuring that all dishes are presented beautifully and served promptly.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation methods.
- Experience in menu planning and food preparation in a fine dining restaurant setting is preferred.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen equipment used in sushi preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
