Susquehanna Waldorf School is seeking a passionate and experienced Waldorf-trained teacher to join our vibrant community as a Lower Grades Class Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate would be committed to Waldorf education and dedicated to fostering a nurturing, creative, and engaging environment for young learners.

Founded in 1987, Susquehanna Waldorf School is a fully accredited school located in the charming river town of Marietta, Pennsylvania. We serve 140 students from Parent-Child through 8th grade in a supportive, collegial environment with a strong commitment to Waldorf principles. Our faculty is deeply dedicated to Waldorf pedagogy, and we offer a curriculum that nourishes the intellectual, emotional, and artistic development of our students.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a teacher who has a strong foundation in Waldorf education, with experience teaching in the early grades of elementary school. Preference will be given to candidates with Waldorf training and certification. The ideal candidate will be:
- Knowledgeable in Waldorf methods : A deep understanding of Waldorf pedagogy, with experience applying it in the classroom.
- Confident and Compassionate: Able to create a warm, nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe to explore and learn.
- Engaging and Creative: Bringing curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning to the classroom each day.
- Collaborative: A strong team player with excellent collegiality, communication, and relationship-building skills with both students and parents.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Lower Grades using Waldorf methods and principles, cultivating curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning in students.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that encourages both academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and parents to create a supportive and dynamic school community.
- Participate in school festivals, community events, and faculty meetings.
