Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Cattle Accounting Specialist. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting Sustainable Beef's financial operations by managing the payments for the live weights and the graded weights of the cattle. Duties include calculating data to be entered for the cattle lots and auditing payment per lot. The position will ensure the accuracy of data before uploading the data into the financial accounting system for payment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process high volume cattle payments in Business Central ERP.
• Data entry of cattle invoices and posting items to the ERP.
· Review grade, yield and prices for cattle.
· Ensure cattle payments have required approval and backup documents prior to
payment.
· Process daily payments, both check and ACH.
• Perform end-of-day headcount and weight balance reconciliations.
· Strict adherence to deadlines.
• Perform other Accounting and Administrative tasks as necessary to maintain department efficiency.
• Weekend work may be required on a scheduled basis.
• Participate in training programs to improve skills.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
• 5 years of accounting experience in the cattle industry is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in computer applications, especially Excel, Word and ERP systems (Business Central experience is a plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Ability to work well within a team and across multiple departments.
• Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and follow-up skills to ensure task completion.
• Strong desire to set goals, meet deadlines, and efficiently manage tasks with attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
