A Crew Chief oversees crew members and helps to organize and facilitate workflows at job sites. They take responsibility for ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with high-quality results. They must have excellent leadership qualities, communication skills, and construction specific knowledge.
Job Responsibilities:
* Supervising crew members and delegating tasks
* Communicating with customers, supervisors, and business owner
* Organizing workflows and schedules
* Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
* Maintaining equipment/tools
* Coordinating with subcontractors as needed
* Training crew members on job-specific tasks
* Reporting daily progress at morning staff meeting
* Tracking crew member work hours for each project site on a weekly basis
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Crew Chief or similar leadership role in the construction industry
* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
* Have an understand of blueprints and follow plans
* Knowledge in all facets of construction not limited to the following: plumbing, electrical, framing, drywall, and HVAC
* Experience operating and maintaining equipment/tools
* Knowledge of local building codes and requirements
* Ability to delegate tasks and motivate team members
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
* Certifications or a degree in a relevant field is an asset
Salary : $30 - $45
