Job Overview:
As the Regional Safety Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing safety protocols across our LTL operations. Your primary mission will be to reduce workplace injuries, prevent accidents, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to safety management, including hands-on fieldwork, audits, and employee training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement safety initiatives to eliminate preventable accidents and workplace injuries for multiple locations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments in LTL terminals and field operations.
- Develop, communicate, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Deliver safety training programs to drivers, warehouse staff, and other personnel to promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Collaborate with Operations to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date safety records and provide reports to management.
- Act as a safety champion, ensuring that safety is a core value within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in safety management within the transportation or logistics industry, preferably in LTL.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA, OSHA, and other regulatory arms affecting our industry.
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead safety meetings and train staff.
- Ability to identify risks and implement effective solutions to mitigate them.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and hands-on approach to safety.
- Five (5) plus years Class A driving experience
- Persuasive communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proven people skills including relationship building, dispute resolution, and diplomacy.
- Critical thinking skills are required.
