JOB SUMMARY:
Procures and manages assigned materials, components, suppliers, equipment and services to meet the operations requirements for quality, delivery, price, lead time, terms and inventory levels.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop requisitions and place PO's to support internal plant customers.
2. Initiate sourcing events for assigned categories of spend
3. Achieve savings goals as assigned.
4. Manage suppliers through open order reports, reviews, quality reporting, performance metrics, etc.
5. Work in a team environment with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and uninterrupted and balanced flow of material.
6. Communicate with required parties to notify and rectify material shortage situations.
7. Monitor and report on supplier performance.
8. Monitors direct and indirect spending, services, and equipment.
9. Inventory management - familiarity with safety stock, POQ, ABC, Inventory Turn, Reorder point concepts and implementation of same.
10. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings, workshops, etc.
11. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
12. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Minimum of three (3) years purchasing experience.
3. Five (5) years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
4. Prior experience with hydraulic cylinders, preferred.
5. Ability to understand prints, BOM's, product structures, and routers.
6. Experience with MRP in a manufacturing environment
7. Experience with MRP demand planning, forecasting and inventory management.
8. Ability to prepare reports, purchase orders, and correspondence related to purchasing.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, highly organized and detail-oriented.
10. Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
11. Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team setting.
12. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
13. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
14. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
15. Proven ability to meet deadlines and follow directions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job duties consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
2. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
3. Ability to work safely and adhere to the Swanson Safety System in daily job duties.
4. Ability to sit for long periods of time.
5. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
