What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Music Teacher position at Swanton Elementary School?
Swanton Elementary School has an opening for a passionate, dynamic, and creative educator who sees music as a vital part of a child's education and school's mission to join or team in the 2025-2026 school year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for general music education classes for children in grades K-6.
All candidates must have knowledge and experience with current best practices that include familiarity with common core standards or music standards, competency in technology integration when appropriate for music, excellent communication skills, ability to differentiate instruction/inclusion, and trauma informed classrooms. Preference will be given (but not a requirement) to educators who have experience in Responsive Classroom and/or PBiS.
All applicants will be expected to have excellent organizational skills, demonstrated planning proficiency, enhanced written and oral communication, creativity, collaboration skills, the ability to be a reflective practitioner, and an enthusiastic belief in the ability of ALL students being able learn. Elementary Education endorsement is required as is a sense of humor and the ability to take your work seriously, but not yourself!
