What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Educator position at Swanton Elementary School?
Swanton Elementary School seeks a special education teacher beginning immediately. The successful candidate will provide both case management and direct services to students within the K-6 grade range with a variety of academic and social-emotional disabilities. Special educators work as part of a collaborative team with students, families, teachers, support staff, outside agencies and consultants, and administration, to ensure an appropriate education that allows students to fulfill their potential. The ability to supervise and direct the work of support staff, analyze student data and plan targeted instruction is essential. Experience with the positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) approach preferred. An unconditional respect of students and families, along with positive contributions to the school climate, are required. Positions open until filled. Applications accepted through SchoolSpring only.
