What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Tax Agent position at SWBC Ad Valorem Tax Advisors LLC?
SWBC is seeking a talented and strong advocate for our clients in all ad valorem tax matters as well as work to facilitate growth of the property tax division. Essential duties include the following: Perform on-site inspections of client’s properties. Review assessments of comparable properties for application of equal and uniform standards by the taxing authorities. Review income, expense, cost and sales data while preparing market value evidence for appeals of the appraisal district assessments. Conduct negotiation of values with appraisal districts on an informal level for Personal and Real properties. Appeal unfair valuations with a professional presentation to the Appraisal Review Board. Recommend Arbitration or Litigation where appropriate as well as coordinate the process until final resolution. May testify in interrogatories, depositions, pre-trial negotiations, and District Court. File renditions and any applicable exemptions. Prepare tax projections and tax estimates. Meet new business/renewal business as it relates to individual goals set by the management. Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Business or Related Field preferred. Mandatory by State Statute to be licensed by the State Comptroller’s Office of the State of Texas, existing license preferred. In-depth knowledge in all three approaches to the valuation of both personal and real property. Strong knowledge of contract law as well as property tax law. Proven experience in sales, growth, and leadership development. Strong working knowledge of PC’s and related applications. Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills. Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Effective presentation ability. Able to work under sometimes stressful conditions, while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm. State of Texas travel will be required.
