JOB SUMMARY:

Establish, implement and maintain the quality, safety, security, DOT management system of the company.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for, scan and organize QA files
  • Tracking calibration of equipment
  • Ensure employees are being properly trained, and the training is effective
  • Quality and Health, Safety, Security, Transportation related CAR, NCR, PAR investigation and follow up for effectiveness to ensure that all areas are implemented and reported to management
  • Data analysis/ trends for CARs, NCRs
  • Ensure proper labeling and segregation of NCR material
  • Perform internal audits, distribute findings and initiate CARs as needed
  • Lead ISO, ESG and customer audits
  • Work with vendors and obtain quotes
  • Maintain Master Document List and Document Approval Forms (DAF)
  • Ensure all containers are properly labeled as well as spot check batch tickets for accuracy and proper documentation
  • Facilitate Management Reviews biannually to include taking and distributing meeting notes.
  • Facilitate quarterly meeting
  • Qualify and approve addition of new suppliers to Approved Vendor List
  • Conduct Quality and Safety related training
  • Responsible for employee health and respirator assessments
  • Maintain and update employee training records
  • Responsible for Security practices, supplies and training
  • Responsible for required medical testing as needed
  • Creating and editing SDS’
  • Maintain spill kits
  • Manage writing/editing work instructions and forms relating to QA, EHS and CSR
  • Compliance with and participate in audits with outside regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, DOT, SAFD)
  • Fire extinguisher inspections
  • Ensure sprinkler and alarm systems are inspected and in compliance
  • Safety supply inventory/ordering
  • Conduct initial training for all new employees, and retraining as necessary
  • Conduct plant surveillances for quality, safety and opportunities for improvement
  • Investigate, document and work toward preventing accidents and near misses
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • B.S., B.A or degree seeking in Biology, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or similar fields of study.
  • Experience in internal auditing and ISO 9000 training is required.
  • Ability to define workflow and write procedures.
  • Must be able to self-teach rules and regulations and apply to company standards.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Language Skills – ability to read and interpret documents such as quality management regulations, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

4.      Computer Skills – knowledge of and working experience in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred:

· Experience in internal auditing and ISO 9001:2015

· Root Cause analysis experience

· OSHA 10 or 30 training (general industry)
