JOB SUMMARY
Provides clerical services to support the function and staff of the surgical services in providing optimal patient care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
- Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Swedish Hospital and demonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and standards of the Hospital.
1. Coordinates unit activities.
2. Functions within the Surgical Services Computer System.
3. Participates in preparation and maintenance of the patient record.
4. Enters charges and other data for statistical reports to support the business function of the departments into computer.
5. Orients new / relief secretaries to the job responsibilities.
6. Attends in-services and staff meetings.
7. Organizes and maintains work area for function and cleanliness.
8. Rotates within Surgical Services Department.
9. Assists unit managers with typing, i.e.; reports, forms, letters.
PATIENT CARE / AGE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Greets and communicates with patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric. Responsible for meetings the needs of patients of all ages.
