Job Title: Student Academic Success Center Writing Coordinator
Reports To: Student Academic Success Center Manager
Job Summary/Objective:
The Student Academic Success Writing Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting student academic achievement and will oversee academic writing support initiatives and assist the Student Academic Success Center Manager in the administration of student success programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach ENCW 1
- Administer and evaluate writing placement assessments for incoming students.
- Provide workshops for students in academic writing as needed.
- Be available across the day to assist students with academic writing and planning.
- Train student academic writing tutors.
- Support the SAS-C Manager with operational and administrative tasks, including processing academic accommodations requests, organizing student success skills workshops, coordinating tutoring schedules, and other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with the SAS-C Manager to design and implement assessment tools for program evaluation.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on need.
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters in Composition, English Rhetoric, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience (minimum of 3 semesters) teaching college-level writing.
- Experience training writing tutors.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Composition, English Rhetoric, or related field.
Work Environment:
- Traditional office environment.
Physical Demands:
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
Travel:
- Limited to professional development or conference travel. Less than 10%.
