Sweet Express, LLC, a growing transportation carrier located in Grand Rapids, MI, is looking for an experienced trailer detention specialist to support the Operations group at Sweet Express and Omni Transport. Our goal is to hire competent individuals who will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for managing a trailer fleet of over 1,000 assets to improve utilization using trailer tracking technology to reduce idle time and capture trailer detention revenue according to specific customer contractual accessorial rates. Identify and address out of location units.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Responsible for managing the trailer detention monitor through Mcleod from ORBCOMM.
· Utilize the trailer telematic platforms to validate trailer arrival and empty times.
· Contact and notify customers for approval as needed on loads that exceed the allotted “free” time.
· Upload required data to various customer websites for approval to comply with detention billing requirements.
· Ability to read contracts and determine the rate of detention, method for billing, and collecting detention revenue.
· Monthly reporting of key metrics to meet and exceed revenue goals.
· Communicate via email and phone with customers, co-workers, and drivers proficiently and respectfully.
· Ability to operate with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
· Support other departments with trailer asset related requirements such as licensing and maintenance.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor as needed.
· Proficient Microsoft office skills like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Preferred experience using McLeod or similar TMS software.

· Infrequent lifting up to 25 pounds.

Pay: $42,692.82 - $55,415.00 per year
