What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Studio Manager position at Sweet Fitness Kickboxing?

Sweet Fitness Kickboxing is looking for a new studio manager! (With the potential to become a regional manager and/or owner!).
We are a group fitness kickboxing gym (sorry, you don’t get to punch anyone in the face lol) whose mission statement is to “Help people change their lives, by giving them the MOST FUN workout they’ve ever had!”
We have been voted Best Boutique Gym in Chico FOUR years in a row, and we have over 500 5 star reviews on Facebook and Google! We have HUNDREDS of SUPER FUN and AWESOME members, and they need a SUPER FUN and AWESOME manager to make sure they have an amazing experience each and every class!
Our current manager will be moving to Missouri to open gyms, and she will be teaching you EVERYTHING she knows first!

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR!
- You LOVE fitness and workout several times per week.
- You are VERY outgoing and friendly. Can strike up a conversation with anyone.
- You feel you could coach a class of 30 people, be FUN and the center of attention, HIGH ENERGY, and NOT have a nervous breakdown lol.
- You are fit enough to learn fitness kickboxing and how to teach it. *DON’T WORRY, we will teach you everything you need to know. If you are fit and athletic, you can DEFINITELY learn kickboxing!*
- You are a positive person who can handle stressful situations without melting down
- You take feedback very well and do not get emotional in the process.
- You are very detail oriented and organized.
- You are able to coach and motivate employees to get the job done.
- You understand that management is not a regular 9 to 5, hours will vary. NOTE: Typically one to two days of the week are split shifts. Saturday morning (8:30am to 11ish) may be required sometimes, depending on schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
- EXTREMELY OUTGOING! This is most important. We sell FUN #1, and our manager must love to have FUN!
- Very sharp, can think on your feet, and a problem solver.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills (Google Docs, Gmail, basic Excel, using various apps, etc.)
- Ability to complete tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to think on your feet and figure things out without having to be shown.
- A can-do attitude. We own a NO EXCUSES mentality. We pride ourselves on taking personal responsibility for our actions and outcomes.
- Kickboxing, fitness kickboxing, Muay Thai, boxing, or some form of striking a bonus, but not required.
JOB DUTIES
- Hiring, training and motivating staff
- Running training sessions with staff
- Selling memberships
- Coaching classes in front of 20-30 people(we will train you on kickboxing)
- Setting appointments for trials
- Lead follow up
- Answering emails and calls
- Networking with other businesses
- Cleaning the gym (this is shared amongst everyone)
- Making social media posts
- Punching and kicking punching bags
- Decorating and planning gym events I.E. LADIES NIGHT!
- Anything and everything it takes to make the studio a success!
