What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Training & Development position at Sweetwater Sound?
Sweetwater the nation's #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments is seeking to hire a Manager of Training & Development to join our growing Human Resources team. Under the leadership and guidance of the Vice President of Employee Wellbeing, the Manager of Training & Development is responsible for leading our learning and development strategy, managing its implementation, and measuring its impact.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, deliver, and maintain training content ensuring strategic alignment of with larger business goals
- Maintain existing processes and procedures for managing training logistics while improving such processes to ensure a best-in-class experiences for all users
- Assist with the creation of Standard Operating Procedures, Guidelines, and Best Practices Documents to ensure efficacy and efficiency of internal processes
- Manage the life-cycle of department-specific training request submitted via internal ticketing system
- Researches and curates resources for personal and professional development including videos, reading materials, and interactive learning tools that align with larger organizational initiatives
- Evaluate individual and organizational performance to ensure training is meeting business needs and improving performance
- Works closely with training and wellbeing specialist to create and coordinate internal communications regarding training activities & events
- Provide follow-up coaching to training participants on how to apply skills acquired in training
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5 years of training and instructional design experience preferably in a retail or corporate environment, to include a minimum of 3 years of experience designing, implementing, and delivering both soft skills and technical training
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of training and development
- Exceptional presentation, platform, and facilitation skills with the ability to engage a diverse audience of learners at every level
- Intermediate to advance knowledge of MS office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), specifically for the purposes of designing and managing training content and related materials
- Function independently following established procedures and guidelines
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion in analyzing facts and circumstances and in the determination of reasonable actions to be taken within the level of authority for this role
- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving skills, written, oral, and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience implementing and managing a learning management system (LMS)
- Knowledge and experience delivering training via a digital training management system is a plus
- Maintain accountability for assigned projects and tasks while simultaneously multitasking between individual and team projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Business, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Education, or Instructional Design, Adult Learning
- Certification in CPLP or CPTM preferred
