Support construction activities by providing support for a portion of the following : planning, organizing and implementing those management duties, project controls systems, engineering interface, subcontract and materials management, purchasing, scheduling. Responsible for portions of project administration.
Responsibilities :
Reads and studies all project related documents (bid, design prints, submitting, etc) to gain a thorough understanding of the project scopeMaintains project files for quick access and for future referenceEnsure that project documentation is being prepared accurately, that materials and work allocations are cost coded correctly and production quantities are being tracked and reported. Sufficient detail shall be included in the report to accurately document the work that was completedMaintains tracking spreadsheets for production quantities, materials, ROP, and other measurable metrics are documented for the projectAssists the Project Manager with performing takeoffs and obtaining quotes for required subs, materials, etc. that are required throughout the projectAttends the daily planning meetings and prepares meeting notes to document and communicate to Project Manager and ClientAttends the weekly Onsite Progress meeting with the client and takes / distributes meeting minutes in accordance with the Project Manager's instructionsAssist the Project team with documenting safety meetings, JSAs, etcAssist in the preparation and review of resource scheduling within the three week look ahead scheduleAssists the Project Manager with documenting and tracking of Extra Work costs, assuring out of scope work is being captured as a Change Order and that Extra work is not being performed without proper authorizationExperience :
2 years of professional experience working in project management or field engineering role within the heavy / civil industrySkills & Abilities :
Must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills, strong analytical skillsShould possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products including : Excel and Word, Microsoft Project and Outlook
Must be highly organized with attention to detailsAbility to multitask in a high paced work environment with changing prioritiesAbility to communicate effective in both verbal and written communicationsAbility to work within AutoCAD or similar design softwareAbility to travel extensively and for extended periods of timePhysical Requirements :
Ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is requiredPPE includes but is not limited to : hard hat, task specific safety glasses, life vest, respirators, task specific hearing protection, task specific safety shoes (steel toe or metatarsal), and / or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and may change based on the location in which the work is being completed.
Ability to walk, step, climb, and otherwise move from one location on the job site to anotherDepending on equipment in use, the chosen candidate must be able to physically get into and get out of equipment through the use of vertical mounted ladders up to and including 10 or more in height
Ability to visually see worksite environment and observe equipment operations (either naturally or with corrective lenses)Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, and sit for long periods of timeAbility to complete repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of workAbility to climb vertical ladders.
