What are the responsibilities and job description for the Body Shop Detail Technician position at Swickard Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac of Anchorage?
Our Detail Technicians play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operations and efficient workflow of our Body Shop. You'll be responsible for meticulously cleaning guest vehicles to deliver back to them after repairs. You will also be responsible for other duties involved in keeping a clean and safe environment in the shop.
Responsibilities:
- Interior Detailing:
- Thoroughly vacuum carpets, upholstery, and floor mats, removing all dirt, debris, and pet hair.
- Clean fabric and leather seats, vinyl surfaces, and plastic trim.
- Deodorize interiors to eliminate unpleasant smells.
- Clean and polish windows and interior glass surfaces.
- Exterior Detailing:
- Wash vehicles thoroughly using cleaning solution, cloths and brushes.
- Degrease wheels and wheel wells, removing grime and brake dust.
- Clean and dress exterior trim like chrome, plastic, and rubber components.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Sweeping and cleaning work stalls and other areas throughout the shop.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and supplies are properly stored.
- Picking up and delivering vehicles as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: no prior experience required.
- Certifications: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, lifting).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Be willing to learn and take direction
