As the Shop Foreman, you will oversee the daily operations of the service department. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of technicians, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high-quality standards, and providing exceptional customer service. You will also be responsible for inventory management, equipment maintenance, and compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and supervise a team of automotive service technicians
- Assign work orders and monitor technician performance
- Ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance services
- Maintain accurate records of service performed and customer information
- Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies
- Inspect and maintain service equipment
- Resolve customer complaints and provide excellent customer service
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 5 years experience in a shop with proven experience as Shop foreman or similar technician management role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot automotive problems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using automotive diagnostic equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Ability to work in a noisy and sometimes dirty environment
- Ability to use hand tools and other equipment
