We're a thriving automotive group seeking a detail-oriented Disbursement Accountant to join our growing accounting department. In this role, you will be responsible for processing vendor payments, managing payment data, and ensuring timely and accurate payments within our fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor payments for accuracy and completeness, following established company procedures and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Exporting/Importing payment data between systems.
- Audit payment processes on a weekly basis.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies to vendors.
- Secure necessary approvals for vendor payments.
- Manage and maintain payment files, ensuring accurate information and payment history.
- Issue timely payments to vendors via various methods (e.g., checks, digital cards).
- Reconcile related accounts on a regular basis.
- Participate in month-end closing procedures.
- Be current on company payment policies and procedures.
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting software or processes.
- Assist other internal departments to resolve payment inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in accounting or finance preferred, or minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable principles and procedures.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) a plus.
- Experience with automotive accounting software Reynolds & Reynolds a plus.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
