Accountant
Swift Air Mechanical is seeking a Full-time Accountant to join our growing team on the Northeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Position Summary: The Accountant is responsible for performing the OpCo’s accounting duties including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and payroll processing. The Accountant also provides general human resources leadership and administrative support to the location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Accounting
- Perform daily A/P financial transactions including verification of product receipts, PO matching, recording bills, and vendor payments.
- Perform daily A/R financial transactions including invoicing, processing customer receipts, and collection calls.
- Process payroll ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
- Enter information and data into the accounting system.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and accounting rules.
- Reconcile intercompany billings.
- Monitor monetary transactions.
- Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
Review/Audit Support
- Run ad hoc reports, as requested.
- Support Site Controller in month-end closing tasks, as needed.
- Assist with annual audit preparations and responses.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
Administration & People Support
- Support the on and offboarding of team members. Serve as an administrator in the payroll and benefits systems.
- Maintain personnel files and documents.
- Participate in regular inter-OpCo HR meetings to share and learn best practices and standards of HR functions.
- Follow all Company and customer safety rules and regulations. Report any safety concerns and/or accidents to a safety representative or manager immediately.

Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and practices.
- Previous accounting experience in construction or a similar industry. Experience with WIP is a plus.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects at a time.
- Comfort working independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools, specifically Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office environment. This individual will be required to support and partner with a neighboring operating company.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous payroll processing experience highly preferred.
- Previous experience using Sage Intacct software highly preferred.
- Experience assessing and supporting the standardization and improvement of internal processes.
- Experience with ServiceTitan is a plus.
