Job Description :
Swift Recon is seeking an experienced Body Shop Technician to join our team. The Body Shop Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and vans. You will be expected to have a thorough understanding of vehicle systems, be able to identify problems, and recommend solutions to ensure that our clients receive high-quality service.
Responsibilities :
- Complete dis-assembly of vehicle to assist in assessing damage to prepare a 100% Repair Plan.
- Ensures all needed repairs are identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time.
- Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window and seat operating equipment and trim to gain access to the damaged area of the vehicle if needed.
- Performs work as outlined on repair orders.
- Maintains an open line of communication with the production manager expressing any changes in repair plan.
- Maintains an initial part cart inventory and maintains part cart organized to eliminate potential part damage.
- Mends damaged body by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts, ensure all gaps and fits are to body shop standards.
- Removes damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolts or weld replacements parts in position and reassemble after parts are painted
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Finishes repaired area with 180 grits before sending through the refinishing process.
