We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Credentialing Specialist to join our team. You will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the overall efficiency of our medical office operations.
Duties
- Review and verify credentials of healthcare providers, including education, training, and licensure.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with managed care standards.
- Collaborate with medical staff to gather necessary documentation for credentialing applications.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies related to medical terminology and credentialing processes.
- Conduct regular audits of provider files to ensure ongoing compliance with credentialing standards.
- Communicate effectively with providers regarding the status of their applications and any required documentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of managed care principles and medical terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in using computer systems for data entry and record management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with healthcare providers and staff.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards related to healthcare credentialing is preferred but not mandatory.
