SHIFT: 12 hr shifts - Nights – (7p - 7:30a) - ( 7 on, 7 off but can work around that if needed )
EXP: Preferably w/ PEDS & Neo & Adult patients
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages. This role is crucial in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. The Respiratory Therapist will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer various therapeutic modalities including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on clinical evaluations.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding respiratory health, treatment options, and home care strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in both clinic and hospital settings, including critical care units.
- Participate in emergency response situations, providing basic life support as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Skills
- Proficiency in patient assessment techniques for both pediatric and adult populations.
- Experience working in various settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, critical care environments, Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.
- Strong knowledge of hospital medicine protocols related to respiratory care.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach towards patients.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
- Familiarity with advanced respiratory equipment and technology used in modern therapy practices.
