What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Affairs Intern position at Swing Strategies - California?
At Swing Strategies, we offer diverse opportunities for our fellows, ranging from statewide ballot initiatives, issue advocacy, and grassroots activation to public affairs. The fellow will also be responsible for research projects, grassroots outreach, data entry, helping with coalition building, and other projects as assigned. We work closely with the business community on several issues including lowering taxes, reducing unnecessary government regulations, and defeating policies that would destroy jobs or raise the cost of living.
We are seeking fellows with strong writing and grammar skills who are willing to learn how to craft thoughtful messages and quickly draft press releases, op-eds, fact sheets, and social media content. Strong preference for applicants who have previously held a job/internship in politics and exemplify strong writing, research, and communications skills. Those with a passion for government and politics who are up to date on current events will thrive.
Compensation is $20.00 per hour. We are looking for approximately 20-24 hours per week for this fellowship but are flexible on the total hours worked. Office hours are 9AM-5PM, Monday through Friday. The role is in-person. Our office is located at Michelson Drive, in Irvine CA.
