SUMMARY:
The Bar Back assists the Bartender and Servers in the orderly operation of the bar and lounge, restocking items as needed, assisting with cleanup, bussing tables and running food orders. Performs duties in an efficient, timely manner for optimal guest service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain a friendly and courteous attitude;
- Maintains a clean and professional appearance;
- Restocks bar items as needed: ie: straws, napkins, matches, supplies from kitchen, beer, etc.;
- Removes empty glasses from tables throughout Casino gaming area, as well as the lounge;
- Picks up food orders from kitchen for bar personnel as requested;
- Busses tables for servers as assigned;
- Rolls silverware and sets tables;
- Fills and restocks condiments;
- Stocks any beer, wine and ice when needed;
- Maintains organization of the Liquor Rooms as well as keeping these areas clean;
- Changes out empty beer kegs in the beer coolers;
- Keeps all walk ins clean and organized
- Breaks down and disposes of empty boxes including soda and juice boxes;
- Keeps floor around the bar free from debris;
- Returns bus tubs of dirty dishes to kitchen dish room as needed;
- Wipes dirty ashtrays as time allows;
- Assists bartender with making drinks during busy times as requested by the bartender;
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Prior bartending classes or training school is desirable. Knowledge of "host liquor laws" and state drinking age requirements required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions to read recipes or other preparatory information, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to calculated required quantities.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- A current Health Card must be obtained within fourteen days as well as a Tips Card and Mixology card within sixty days of employment if deemed necessary for your position.
