This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy in trade confirmations, resolving discrepancies, and supporting contracting processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial contracting within the energy sector and possess strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and validate third-party and broker confirmations, identifying and logging discrepancies (DEW).
- Collaborate with internal teams and front-office personnel to resolve confirmation discrepancies.
- Engage with counterparties to ensure prompt and accurate resolution of trade discrepancies.
- Support local implementation, adoption, and compliance with Contracting Standards and Procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance and streamline contracting processes.
- Manage assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining high engagement with stakeholders.
- Maintain contract files in compliance with document retention policies.
- Support periodic audit activities to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve contract-related issues, including pricing, quality, timing, claims, and liens.
- Work closely with the Legal team to ensure adherence to contractual requirements and industry regulations.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a commercial contracting or trade support role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing contractual documents.
- Experience in a commercial organization with contracting exposure in Crude Oil, Refined Products, NGLs, and/or Gas and Power (Required).
- Industry knowledge is beneficial; experience on a trade floor or supporting a trade floor is a plus.
- Data-driven mindset with a strong focus on process accuracy and deal capture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, SAP, and other relevant technologies.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and effectively engage with key stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence critical decisions.
