Responsibilities :
- Ensure all maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles and/or equipment are performed in a safe, timely , and cost-effective manner for all 3 rd party managed locations.
- Ensure alignment of preventive maintenance programs are followed .
- Perform quality control audits of repairs and services.
- Ensure accuracy of documentation generated by employees at Swire CC/vendor shops for all maintenance/repair activities.
- Ensure appropriate training and development opportunities for all team members.
- Ensure proper disposal and documentation of waste stream items.
- Ensure compliance to Company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Ensure that parts inventories are maintained in accordance with established guidelines.
- Ensure that vehicles are prepared for transfer or disposal as appropriate .
- Ensure compliance to annual cost budget; explain and justify cost variances.
- Assessing the performance of vendors .
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers in all locations .
- Working with the Safety Department on property damage incidents involving fleet equipment.
- Ensure all vehicle damage is reported, and repairs are completed.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Work with fleet team at all Distribution Centers to review/authorize repairs and issue PO’s.
- Conduct necessary fleet training classes. i.e. Safety, Forklift, Pallet Jack, Lift Gate Operation, etc.
- Keep up to date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
- A nalyze purchase and repair costs to control expenses.
- Work with leadership team to continuously foster a positive work environment .
- Conform with, abide by, and re-enforce all regulations, policies, work procedures and processes.
- Interface in a positive and constructive manner with other departments and other companies.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, five to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience .
- 3 years of experience in mechanics and Heavy Equipment repair required .
- Knowledge of repair and maintenance methods, equipment, techniques, parts, processes, pricing, suppliers, industry standards and best practices used in vehicle repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of DOT laws, federal regulations, best practices, fleet makes & models, specifications, operations, and industry standards regarding large fleet equipment, and material handling equipment
- Skilled in problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, and valid conclusion drawing
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal) with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to lead others and provide direction in a clear and concise manner; ability to develop others and ensure career growth opportunities exist for team members.
- Ability to manage costs effectively; ability to create and maintain annual cost budget.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule if needed.
- Must be able to lift and move items in excess of 50 lbs.
- Travel Requirements: 30%
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), Fleet Management Software, SAP Software, and Preventative Maintenance Programs
