What does a Director, Income Tax do at Swire Coca-Cola do?
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Income Tax to lead and manage all aspects of our company's income tax function. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of domestic and international tax laws, tax compliance, reporting, planning, and risk management. The Director of Income Tax will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations, optimizing the company's tax position, and providing guidance to senior leadership on tax-related matters.Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns
Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to manage tax audits, ensure compliance with regulations, and respond to inquiries or disputes, while identifying and mitigating tax risks. Work with local tax teams to manage tax risks and opportunities both domestically and internationally, and implement processes to document and defend the company’s tax positions
Review and approve tax filings, documentation, and schedules to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
Lead tax planning initiatives to identify opportunities for tax savings, efficiencies, and risk mitigation
Develop and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
Advise executive leadership on tax implications of strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other corporate transactions
Mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance on complex tax matters and fostering professional development
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment on tax strategies and initiatives
Lead the tax department in executing projects and initiatives with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Manage the company’s global tax strategy, including transfer pricing
Ensure compliance with international tax laws and treaties, and address any issues related to global tax structuring or repatriation of earnings
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
Master's Degree in Taxation or similar area preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
10 years of experience in corporate income tax required
8 years Big 4 experience strongly preferred
Expertise in U.S. tax compliance, ASC 740, tax planning, and global tax issues
Extensive experience identifying, analyzing, and communicating complex tax issues to key stake holders and executive leaders, required
Experience with international tax, including transfer pricing is highly preferred
Strong understanding of tax law, IRS regulations, and accounting for income taxes
Proficiency with tax software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
