Sanitation Team Lead

Position Summary: The Sanitation Team Lead is a team member who leads a team of fifteen to twenty other team members. Sanitation Team Leaders form the first line of support for team members who unlike their counterparts are the heart of improvement activities with responsibility for problem solving, quality assurance, and basic preventive maintenance. Sanitation Team Leaders do not take disciplinary action and do not have a fixed job task. Rather, they provide support by knowing all the job task performed by their team members so that they can relieve team members, fill in for absentees, or help team members who need assistance or are falling behind. They respond to problems such as filling in for absentees, ordering supplies when needed, and take the lead role in activities to be performed. They also use standardized work audit sheets to do daily checks of team members to make sure team is following standardized work and follow up on issues or events that surface and provide solutions to problems. Sanitation Team lead is responsible for the manufacturing and filling/packaging floor by taking a leadership role with team members and ensuring that bulk and finished goods are produced in a safe, efficient, timely, and compliant manner meeting all FDA, GMP, ISO, OSHA, contract customer, and SA CDMO procedures and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Proficient with all job task related to the team. Able to perform, train, and provide constructive criticism to individual team member assigned job roles.
• Able to ensure Standardized Work is followed, and quickly identify any abnormalities and find, provide and implement permanent solutions.
• Evaluate manufacturing equipment for safety, compliance to validated specifications and functionality.
• Responsible for analyzing the area of “Used Items” and delegating correct personnel to complete cleaning and sanitizing for priority equipment cleaning when needed.
• Communicates any downtime delays to appropriate department supervisors and communicates with technical services when necessary for equipment issues or facility events.
• Reviews Cleaning Logbooks to verify that all team members are documenting the correct information signing and dating and affixing a cleaning tag as necessary.
• Print new log sheets and labels; provide necessary sanitation supplies and monitor Sanitation department tool storage boxes for cleanliness and organization.
• Check each station at the start of the day to ensure that everyone has the proper tools to perform their assigned duties.
• Ensures that all stations and sanitation equipment is put away at the end of the shift.
• Ensures that 1^st shift has set-up 2^nd shift for success and communicated any events or issues that may have been seen or overcome during previous shift.
• Oversees the wastewater treatment team members, and follow up on task they have completed.
• Motivate team members to enhance cleanliness of equipment and facility and at the same time maintain high cleaning and sanitizing standards for all assigned team member task .
• Other duties may be assigned. 

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Required proficient conversational English
• Able to read and write in English
• Able to complete basic arithmetic operations
• Able to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Able to problem solve with well-defined steps.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to keep up with the company's demand for the production lines, including the ability to support 70 bottles per minute.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
