Gamma Ray Digital is seeking a part-time employee to help with all aspects of the client service side of our business. Our customers range from independent filmmakers to major film archives, and the job would involve working with rare, interesting, and unusual subjects in all areas of digital film preservation and restoration.
We need someone with obsessive attention to detail, familiarity with multiple operating systems (Mac and Windows primarily; some Linux is a plus), and experience working with computer-based editing / color correction software. Experience handling film is a must.
Responsibilities :
- 8mm - 35mm film prep and scanning
- Tape capture from BetaCam SP through HDCAM SR tape
- DAT and 16mm / 35mm magnetic audio capture
- Organizing and cataloging incoming and outgoing client elements using a barcode scanning system
- Conforming and light editing work in DaVinci Resolve
20-24 hours per week to start, with the possibility of more hours later.
We are located in Allston, MA. We're at the MBTA Boston Landing commuter rail stop (Framingham / Worcester Line), a few minutes walk to the 66 bus, and about a 15-minute walk from the Green line (B-line).
