We are seeking a skilled Oracle and SQL database engineer with systems administration experience to join IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for user support, system configuration, database management, engineering tools support, system patching, and system/software deployment automation.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Oracle and SQL databases, ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and availability.
- Implement regular system updates and patches, minimizing vulnerabilities and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools for deployment automation to increase operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver tailored technical solutions based on program requirements.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking protocols, PowerShell, and security best practices.
- Communicate complex technical issues and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Four years of experience in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux systems administration.
- Three years of direct experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Ability to support occasional offsite travel, overtime, and the ability to lift equipment (20 lbs).
- Experience supporting Linux (RedHat REL 7/8, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- CCNA/CCNP or experience managing Cisco routers and switches at the enterprise level.
- Experience with VMware or similar virtualization software.
- Experience with Ansible.
- Experience with Commvault or similar backup software.
- Experience managing systems under the NIST Risk Management Framework.
