- Identify process hazards, evaluate risks, and develop effective solutions to mitigate those risks.
- Develop and implement comprehensive High Hazard/Process Safety Management (HH/PSM) programs, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) execution and follow-up to ensure timely closeout of findings.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate the success of the HH/PSM program.
- Lead PHAs for existing and new processes.
- Evaluate and modify processes and facilities to meet new safety and regulatory requirements, working closely with maintenance and engineering functions.
- Provide oversight for the site Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Manage the site PHA schedule and ensure the implementation of recommendations.
- Lead and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for incidents and near misses.
- Provide oversight for and lead Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for site projects.
- Mentor and create/deliver training programs for site personnel.
- Participate in teams responsible for implementing new procedures and processes related to EHS and HH/PSM.
- Engage with regulatory authorities for inspections, permits, and information requests.
- Collaborate with facilities to interact with insurance companies as a site representative.
- Maintain technical expertise in HH/PSM and other safety regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate changing regulatory requirements and provide guidance to leadership teams.
- Additional duties as required to support business needs.

- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience leading safety processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with the fourteen elements of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) rules.
- 3-5 years of experience in a PSM or RMP regulated environment.
- Functional Safety Certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Specialist, Certified Industrial Hygienist), Six Sigma Green or Black Belt are a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 compliance; auditor certification is a plus or willingness to pursue certification.
- Experience in fire loss prevention and insurance carrier interactions.
- Experience designing and implementing strategies, programs, and processes that support business objectives.
