Position Overview
We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead moderately complex engineering projects, focusing on the performance and reliability of machinery and equipment. This role will involve directing technical associates, conducting failure analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support reliability objectives, maintenance cost goals, and capital project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible leadership in delivering excellent safety outcomes.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to implement strategic maintenance initiatives that support reliability objectives and key performance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement through positive influence, best practices, FMEA, and RCFA.
- Manage all aspects of project management including scope development, estimating, planning, prioritization, scheduling, implementation, and budget management.
- Lead process variability reduction and equipment reliability improvements.
- Facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify and resolve latent issues.
- Ensure project compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Provide electrical and instrumentation (E&I) design support to the Maintenance Department, including for capital projects.
- Offer technical assistance to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
- Support the electrical power distribution system and motor programs.
- Support the planning and execution of plant shutdowns, including job planning, coordination, resource planning, and financial management.
- Monitor the effectiveness of E&I predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
- Contribute to the development of maintenance training materials and ensure team skills are aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement operating procedures, troubleshooting documents, and training resources.
- Conduct technical process evaluations and drive continuous improvements.
- Implement best practices using teams, databases, vendors, and other technical resources.
- Coordinate with contractors as required.
- Participate in the 5S program, leading improvement projects when needed.
- Contribute to cost reduction initiatives and support capital project development and execution.
- Rotate with other leaders to provide weekend duty leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of three (3) years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience with Power Distribution and/or Control Systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Emerson) is required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent leadership skills with a strong commitment to safety and safety processes.
