Position Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee moderately complex engineering projects, focusing on the performance and reliability of machinery and equipment through failure analysis. This role involves leading technical associates, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible leadership to ensure excellent safety performance, with required safety certifications.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to implement strategic maintenance initiatives, supporting reliability objectives, key performance metrics, maintenance cost goals, and capital project execution.
- Facilitate continuous improvement efforts through best practices, FMEA, and RCFA.
- Lead RCFA processes to identify and solve underlying causes of issues promptly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, specifically NFPA 70E safety standards.
- Manage all aspects of asset management for Electrical Power Distribution (EPD) equipment, including protective relays, UPS systems, generators, grounding systems, load-shed systems, capacitor banks, and more.
- Actively participate in monthly best practice calls related to EPD.
- Maintain a current gap analysis against Client requirements.
- Provide outage support for electrical power distribution equipment.
- Assist in factory acceptance testing of EPD equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for manufacturing process issues.
- Oversee infrared and ultrasonic inspections of power distribution equipment and corrective action planning.
- Manage the capital plan for EPD equipment.
- Lead the electrical transformer oil analysis testing program.
- Monitor the effectiveness of predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
- Develop operating procedures, troubleshooting documents, and training materials.
- Participate in a weekend duty rotation to provide electrical support.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience.
- Required experience in Power Distribution systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ETAP power system modeling software is preferred.
- Previous experience in the pulp and paper industry is a plus.
