Job Type: FTE/Permanent

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating between day and night each cycle.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Unit Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing a union crew, providing technical troubleshooting, and ensuring the efficient operation of maintenance activities. This role involves supervising mechanical and electrical craft employees, offering technical leadership, and ensuring a safe, productive, and high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical crafts within the department, serving as a resource for maintenance guidance to craft and manufacturing personnel.
• Manage both planned and unplanned work to meet department goals and performance standards.
• Foster and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring zero harm to people or the environment.
• Lead safety discussions and conduct job-specific safety reviews.
• Drive performance through crew management, with a focus on quantity, quality, safety, recovery, and timely delivery.
• Fairly allocate and assign tasks according to business priorities and department guidelines.
• Manage crewing arrangements for both planned and unplanned work, considering team availability, equipment, and schedules.
• Apply root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to restore production when necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to resolve issues and motivate them to meet objectives.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience managing direct reports.
  
  

Ideal Candidates Also Have

• Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (ABS).
