Key Responsibilities
- Nursing Practice: Assesses, identifies appropriate nursing diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Develops, updates, and coordinates the patient's care plan to achieve goals and optimize outcomes across the care continuum. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as necessary. Maintains essential competencies required by specific area of hire and populations served.
- Advocacy: Advocates for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of the patients.
- Facilitates Learning: Fosters a learning environment for patients/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team, including students. Facilitates both formal and informal learning for the patient/family and the broader healthcare community.
- Safety and Quality: Holds accountability for patient safety and quality of care. Identifies and resolves problems, integrates evidence-based practice into nursing care, and uses data to improve patient outcomes. Prioritizes patient safety, self-safety, and environmental safety for optimal outcomes.
- Professional Development: Engages in ongoing professional development, practices within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act and relevant ethical codes, and promotes a culture of inquiry that explores and integrates research and evidence-based practice.
- Leadership: Leads and coordinates teams, delegates appropriately, collaborates with other inter-professional care team members, and models professional behavior representative of the nursing profession.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 90 days of hire.
- 1 year of Neuro Nursing experience.
