Position Overview
Seeking for a Senior Manager for Global Trade Compliance to lead and manage Trade Compliance teams within a sector of an organization. This role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and enforcement of trade compliance policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring the business operates within legal and regulatory frameworks. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with various internal teams to ensure compliance with trade laws and regulations and drive the success of international business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of trade compliance teams within the sector.
Communicate trade compliance requirements and provide updates to division leadership.
Implement corporate trade compliance policies and procedures across the sector.
Act as an empowered official for the sector, proactively assessing and ensuring compliance.
Prepare, review, and manage export authorizations and compliance records.
Foster a collaborative and positive team culture within the sector.
Work with key business functions, such as Business Development, Program Management, and Engineering, to ensure trade compliance is integrated into business strategies.
Continuously improve procedures to meet financial objectives and secure critical business licenses.
Investigate and report any violations of trade laws/regulations promptly and accurately.
Support compliance audits and assessments to evaluate compliance posture.
Occasional domestic travel (approximately 20%).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 10 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of related experience is acceptable.
At least 3 years of experience leading a high-performing team.
At least 5 years of experience with international trade compliance, including export control regulations.
Experience With Trade Sanctions Programs Is Required.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Ability to interpret and assess risk related to trade compliance laws and regulations.
Experience with compliance tools and systems.
Previous work in military or policy-related operational roles is a plus.
Strong leadership skills, with a focus on team collaboration and development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Strong decision-making skills, adhering to policies, regulations, and legal standards.
