Job Description:
The Senior Sterile Processing Technician demonstrates the technical expertise to practice at the SPD Tech II level and assumes responsibility for complex instrumentation (i.e., Ortho, Neuro, and/or ENT) maintenance and development in collaboration with the SPD Supervisor, SPD Clinical Manager, Specialty Techs, and/or Clinical Nurses. Promotes and improves the quality of daily unit operations, participates in the development of technical practice standards, assists in training and orienting new staff members, and educates SPD I and SPD II staff regarding instrumentation within the designated specialty. Provides ongoing education regarding designated specialty instrumentation for all SPD staff.
Required Qualifications:
- National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
- 2 years of Sterile Processing experience in an acute care setting.
- 2 years of High-Level Disinfection experience or Endoscopy experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training in High-Level Disinfection, decontamination, processing, sterilization, quality control, and flexible scope reprocessing.
