Job Summary
This role is responsible for managing and improving financial transparency around inventory, cost accounting, and working capital reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in finance or accounting within a manufacturing or operations-focused environment. This role involves collaboration with operations, procurement, and cross-functional finance teams, as well as supporting internal and external audit activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain standard financial reporting related to working capital, inventory costs, and profitability
- Provide cost analysis support and respond to costing-related inquiries from internal teams and auditors
- Review journal entries and perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations related to inventory
- Enhance inventory reporting processes, including part-level cost analysis, labor costing, and overhead calculations
- Lead accounting control activities such as inventory reconciliations, reserve calculations, cycle count accuracy, and operational reporting
- Consolidate and analyze inventory balances by product line and perform monthly variance analysis and quarterly balance sheet classification (Raw Materials, WIP, Finished Goods)
- Calculate and record intercompany profit-in-inventory (PII) eliminations in compliance with accounting standards
- Maintain and improve internal control documentation and support audit processes
- Identify and implement process improvements and promote knowledge sharing through cross-training
- Assist with project management activities and perform ad hoc financial analysis
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to support business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 12 years of related experience, or
- Graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience, or
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification
- Relevant experience in cost accounting or operations/manufacturing environment
- Strong SAP expertise with an understanding of pegging and distribution in a complex manufacturing or logistics environment.
